If ten years have passed after menopause, there is absolutely no possibility of that woman getting pregnant. After menopause, ovulation stops, thus pregnancy is just not possible. You need not use any contraceptive during intercourse. Common age for menopause is usually from 48 to 52 years. Menopause is always identified retrospectively; ie, one year after the last period that woman gets. In that last one year, pregnancy is sometimes possible, as sporadic ovulation is still likely to happen. However, if a woman does not get her period for 12 months in a row, her menopause is considered to be complete. Ten years is a long period and way beyond any possibility of ovulation. Thus, in your case, from the pregnancy point of view, it is 100 per cent safe to have intercourse without any contraceptive.
