My girlfriend has put on a lot of weight in the last one year. She now refuses to have sex with me. She says she feels ugly and unattractive. She doesn’t listen to me when I tell her I don’t care. What can I do?

The sad truth is that most people don’t feel very confident about their physical appearance. Because of the exaggerated ideals of beauty propagated by movies, television shows, and Instagram accounts. All bodies are wonderful, and I’m not advocating that people should start overeating and quitting exercise because they are unhappy with the way their bodies look. The secret is to avoid focusing just on her appearance and instead learn to have a “healthy relationship” with her body. Our bodies are tools for change, not merely decorative pieces. You should value them for what they can accomplish for you in addition to their appearance.
