I am 46 years old and I suffer from erectile dysfunction and premature ejaculation. I was recently diagnosed with diabetes and high blood pressure and I am on medications right now. I was also on medication (Pexep CR) for agoraphobia (fear of closed spaces) by a psychiatrist from July 2019 to August 2020. After discontinuing it, I immediately developed premature ejaculation and from Nov 2020 I developed erectile dysfunction. I then consulted a Venereologist online who prescribed Nano Leo total granules for 15 days, but to no avail. This is really tough for me. What should I do? Please suggest.

Diabetes as well as many of the medications that are often given for high blood pressure are known for causing Erectile Dysfunction (ED). Besides these two causes, there are also many other known organic (physical) as well as psychogenic causes of erectile dysfunction and premature ejaculation. If the cause is psychogenic or situational, the treatment is generally ‘sex counselling’ and ‘supportive therapy’. If the cause is organic or constitutional, then appropriate and specific medical line of treatment is given by a qualified sexologist. It is necessary to first find out the cause (ie diagnosis) of these two problems in your case, through proper history taking, physical examination and certain investigations. Once the cause is found, only then, the specific treatment can be advised. Remember ‘Venereologist’ is not a ‘sexologist’. Venereologist can only treat your sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). They are neither qualified nor trained to treat sexual dysfunctions such as erectile dysfunction and premature ejaculation. Stop the medicine prescribed by your Venereologist and consult a qualified sexologist. Your problem is so treatable!
