This is a form of Erectile Dysfunction (ED). There are many known physical as well as psychogenic causes for ED. It is always necessary to first find out the cause of this problem, through proper history taking, thorough physical examination and certain investigations. Once the exact cause (definitive diagnosis) is found, specific treatment can be advised. Effective medications such as Sildenafil and Tadalafil are available to address difficulties with erection. However, remember that these drugs cannot bring about an artificial erection in a flaccid penis. They are not of much use to those who have difficulty ‘getting’ a good erection. They help only those who are able to get an erection on their own, but are not able to maintain it long enough to perform penetrative intercourse. Moreover, you cannot get these drugs without a proper prescription by a registered medical practitioner. There are side effects and risks involved in taking them. If you seek a good pill, you definitely need to consult a competent sexologist before you take any medicines. Unless you are guided by a specialist, completely avoid self-medicating under any circumstances. This is regardless of how healthy you feel or how healthy you truly are.
