I am 44 years old. I am a married and biological father of a 10-year-old daughter. My sex life is good. Will it be safe to try for a second child? My spouse is 42 years old? Do I need my sexual medical check-up? I am interested in becoming a sperm donor. Please guide me on how I can go about for it?

It would be best for you to get your semen analysis done and for your wife to visit a gynaecologist and do certain tests like AMH, which will give an idea about how her ovarian reserve.. If both of you have all tests normal, you can go ahead and try to have a baby. But keep in mind that as the maternal age in pregnancy increases, the chances of complications in pregnancy are high. If, on the other hand, your semen analysis is normal and you want to become a sperm donor, you can definitely go ahead after discussion with your wife. If you want to have a child with your wife and there are certain issues, do keep the option of IVF open.you consult a qualified sexologist to get specific help for your problem.
