Nightfall, also known as ‘wet dream’ or ‘nocturnal emission’ is a normal, natural, very common and an involuntary body response, to rather uncontrollable sexual tension that gets built up in a man’s body due to the rush of sex hormones. At the age of 12 or 13, the testicles in adolescent boys start producing testosterone hormone as well as sperm. As a result, boys start experiencing strong sexual urges, attraction and feelings. It is, at around this time, many boys start spontaneously discharging semen while asleep. This discharge is often (though not always) accompanied by sexual dreams. This is what is commonly known as ‘nightfall’. It is not a disease, and it happens with almost all healthy men. It is absolutely harmless and has no ill effect on one’s body, health, fitness, manhood or fertility.

So, there is really nothing to worry, get disturbed, feel guilty or get alarmed. A healthy man produces at least twenty thousand sperms every minute and the same number of old sperms routinely die every minute. With this rate of production (known as spermatogenesis), the body needs an outlet. Either one can ejaculate through intercourse or masturbation or then nightfall will occur inevitably.
