Over the past two years, I’ve noticed a drastic change in my friend’s mom. Earlier, she was quite conservative, but lately, she has become more outspoken, free-spirited, and modern in her dressing.

For context, my friend’s mom and my dad have known each other for almost 25 years, back to our school days. I hadn’t paid much attention earlier, but thinking back, there was a wedding of a mutual family friend about three years ago (it was his second marriage) which seemed to mark the beginning of this shift.

It was a destination wedding, and my dad and my friend’s mom, along with a group of friends, went there three days early to help with the arrangements. My friend and I joined on the day of the wedding itself. After this event, things started to change noticeably.

Since then, there have been several instances where my friend’s mom was either present coincidentally or somehow ended up being there, whether it was during shopping, morning or evening walks, and so on.

I tried discussing this casually with my friend, but from his indirect comments, I feel he has similar observations. Any suggestions on how to approach or handle this situation would be appreciated.
