I am around 60 years old, healthy but have prostate problems. I have been given some capsules to keep prostate under control but no surgery. Result: I have totally lost my sex life as I do not get proper erection. My testis gets heavy and on occasion pains. I cannot masturbate. My question is that will I get back to normal if capsules are stopped or after surgery for prostrate or am I going to continue in the above manner. Will Viagra help? I and my wife are disturbed.

Why have you totally lost your sex life. There is much both can do even without an intercourse. See your urologist and tell him of your problem. The erection might have been effected by the tablet prescribed. He can also give you a tablet to increase erection. After 40 years changes take place in the genital system. One of them is no sperm fluid at ejaculation. It is immaterial as sperms are meant for babies. Your sexual desire is intact because it is the male hormone that works. You have the right of information from your urologist. Ask him all the questions that disturb you. It is possible to have a satisfactory sex life after a trans urethral rostatectomy.
