Friend of 2 years, who has always said he’s openly gay, and acted like it, recently confessed his feelings towards his girl bff. I’m not exactly sure what went down between them, but apparently in private he made a sexual pass and admitted to having liked her and having feeling for her.
These two have been very close for the whole time I have known them. Typical straight girl, gay bff dynamic. Gone to pride together, he hangs out with girls all the time, paints his nails, rates guys, sleepovers (mid 20s btw) the whole thing, although apparently he has never dated any guys while they’ve known each other, which is longer than I have, but he has talked about his gay hookups before.
I’m know were relatively young, and some people don’t have their identity or orientation or whatever fully figured out, but I can’t help feeling a little betrayed. The girl in question and I had, last year, been talking for a few weeks, something that he didn’t setup, but when I talked to him about it he was relatively encouraging, but then after a few weeks, she became distant and uninterested. When I asked him about this, he told me he didn’t know what happened, and that he hadn’t talked to her about it. This was despite them hanging out everyday and talking about guys constantly.
Maybe I’m being paranoid, but now after this recent incident, in immediately imagining him sabotaging me with her.
He’s overweight and very feminine, and absolutely the opposite of her type, and so obviously she rejected his approach. And in an a bit of a twist I’m being kept out of the loop, because we had been roommates for 7 months apparently people think I had known about this. Obviously he’s out of the “girls’ group” and I assume they’re calling him a creep or perv, as he’s made his social media private and the girlies aren’t following him anymore.
Normally I would stay away from gossip and drama like this, but I feel like I’m back in high school and I have got to know the full details now
